The Application Settings menu allows you to customize things at the application level. (See Outline Settings for information on how to configure additional features on a per-outline basis.)
Predictive Text
If enabled, on devices that support predictive text this feature will be active. If disabled, Grapevine will discourage the device from attempting to guess at what you are typing.
(Please note that many devices are known to ignore this request from the application. Whether the device honors this flag or not is up to the device manufacturer and beyond the control of application developers.)
Font Size for New Outlines
Sets the font size for new outlines. Once the outline has been created, it maintains its own configuration for font size, and that can be changed from the Outline Settings menu.
Default Casing for New Outlines
Sets the default casing for new outlines. Once the outline has been created, it maintains its own configuration for casing, and that can be changed from the Outline Settings menu.
“Casing” refers to how capitalization is used with text. Grapevine offers three options:
“Sentence” casing will automatically capitalize the first letter of each item and the first letter of any subsequent sentences if any “sentence” punctuation is used in the text.
“Title” casing will automatically capitalize the first letter of each word.
“None” will not capitalize anything by default, but will leave it up to you when you are entering text to specify capitalization.
Display Dividers for New Outlines
Sets whether or not dividers will be displayed in new outlines. Once the outline has been created, it maintains its own configuration for this setting, and that can be changed from the Outline Settings menu.
This is a purely aesthetic feature and whether you use it or not is up to personal preference and what type of information you are organizing.
